Design And R&D Assistance

Improvements in window design can lead to a product that has superior thermal and structural performance. Computer modeling provides a cost effective means of rapidly evaluating different design options and producing the optimized design. Carli, Inc. uses a variety of computer tools for this purpose;

THERM and WINDOW programs are used for optimizing thermal performance, resulting in a better NFRC rating. In addition, condensation occurrence can be predicted with these programs by subjecting the product to a design relative humidity, indoor and outdoor conditions, therefore assisting architects and mechanical engineers in making adjustments to envelope and HVAC design to avoid condensation.

New technologies can be evaluated in their conceptual stage to aid in effective decision-making during early stages of development. FIDAP and FLUENT are comprehensive computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and heat transfer (CHT) computer tools that are suitable for advanced product development. ANSYS Finite Element Analysis (FEA) computer tool is used for structural and thermal-structural interaction analysis. AutoCAD and Pro-E geometry modeling tools are used in conjunction with FLUENT and ANSYS for rapid prototyping and optimized product development. Other modeling tools can be deployed, based on a specific request and the needs of the client.
