PARTNERS:
Dr. Charlie Curcija is the president
of Carli, Inc. and holds a Ph.D. degree from the University
of Massachusetts. He is an internationally recognized
expert in the field of thermal performance of fenestration
systems and has authored over 30 technical papers
and publications. Dr. Curcija was instrumental in
the development of ISO15099 standard, which has become
a technical basis for the new National Fenestration
Rating Council (NFRC) certification system. Dr. Curcija
is the leading technical expert in the area of the
thermal performance of windows at NFRC and is very
active on several NFRC committees. He is collaborating
on the development of THERM and WINDOW computer programs
with Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL)
and is a member of the program development team. He
also works on several other software projects in service
to the fenestration and building industry. Additionally,
Dr. Curcija is a certified simulator for NFRC program.
Dr. Mahabir Bhandari is the senior
energy analyst for Carli, Inc. and has over 10 years
of experience in the field of energy performance of
buildings. Dr. Bhandari obtained his Ph.D. degree
from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, India.
Before joining Carli Inc., he worked as a Guest Scientist
at KFA Juelich, Germany, as a Project Scientist at
the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, India and
as a Senior Post Doctoral Fellow at the University
of Massachusetts, Amherst. He has published more than
15 papers in various International journals and conferences
and is a voting member of the ASHRAE TC4.5 Technical
committee and NFRC. Dr. Bhandari is the chief NFRC
certified simulator for Carli, Inc. however his other
areas of specialty include, building energy simulation,
thermal performance of building envelopes thermal
measurements and HERS ratings.
